Dr. Thomas was born and raised in Upland, California. After high school, he completed a two year church mission in Perth, Australia. Of all places, that is where he became fluent in Spanish. He then moved to Utah where he completed his Bachelor of Science degree at Brigham Young University. Then he attended Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry where he graduated with honors.
While at Brigham Young University, he married Tara Bergeson. Being from Royal City, Tara brought Dr. Thomas “home”. He started work in Quincy and fell in love with the Columbia Basin. In 2008 he began working at the Columbia Basin Eye Clinic where he has enjoyed being a part of the friendly staff.
In addition to comprehensive eye exams for glasses and contact lenses, he has years of experience treating eye diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, emergency care for foreign body removal, conjunctivitis, and dry eye. He especially enjoys the pre-op and post-op care and seeing the joy that comes from improved vision after Dr. Roth performs cataract surgery on patients!
Dr. Thomas loves spending time with his wife and six daughters. He has been involved with coaching their soccer and softball teams. He is also very involved with church. With the rest of his “spare” time, he enjoys woodworking, golf, home improvement projects, and being a spectator at sporting events. He loves calling Moses Lake home and raising his family here.
